Assistant Professor of Computer Science (1 of 2 positions)

Duties: Teach a broad range of courses in computer science at both graduate and undergraduate levels, as well as develop new courses in areas of expertise. Expected to plan and conduct research and develop an extramurally funded research program involving undergraduate and graduate students. Service to the department is required.  Requirements: An earned Ph.D. in computer science, a related field, or its foreign equivalent by August 1, 2021. Responsibilities will include teaching [accounting courses] in undergraduate and/or graduate levels, service, and scholarship.  Required qualifications: Must possess an earned doctorate by hire date in Accounting [or a closely related field] from an AACSB-accredited institution or its foreign equivalent; will be able to demonstrate effectiveness in teaching, service, and in research activities leading to publications in quality refereed journals.

6/14/2022 Assistant Professor of Gaming

The position involves teaching, advising and maintaining an active research agenda. Primary teaching will include teaching Game Design and Development courses as well as other courses in computing as needed. Candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service.  Required qualifications: Must possess an earned Ph.D. or terminal degree, or its foreign equivalent, by August 1, 2021 in a computing, software engineering, or computer game design discipline or closely related field.

6/14/2022 Assistant Professor of Statistics and Data Science

Responsibilities: Will be expected to teach a broad range of courses in applied statistics and data science at the undergraduate and graduate levels (specific courses may include, but are not limited to, time series, six sigma, applied categorical data analysis, and experimental design). Will also be expected to engage in scholarly research, pursue external funding to support their research, and potentially participate in applied consulting project-based work. Contribution to service activities within the department, college, university, Analytics and Data Science Institute, and professional community is also an expectation.  Required Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. from an accredited university, or its foreign equivalent, in Statistics, Analytics and Data Science, or a closely related discipline; demonstrated effective teaching in their area of expertise; proficiency in at least one analytical programming language (e.g., SAS, R, Python, or other similar); and strong communication skills with a diverse audience of academics and practitioners.  A record of peer-reviewed publications and demonstrated ability to work effectively in an inclusive, diverse, and collaborative academic setting is essential.

6/14/2022 Assistant Professor of English and Asian Studies

Duties: Teaching and developing courses in English and Asian studies at the undergraduate and graduate level. Teaching undergraduate survey courses in English and Asian Studies. Scholarship/Research expectations appropriate for faculty at an R2 university with “higher research activity” designation. Service to the Department, College, University, and professional community is expected.  Strong scholarship along with a commitment to excellence in teaching and engagement is expected of all faculty members in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at KSU. Faculty will be expected to teach courses in various modalities, i.e., face to face, hybrid, and online.  Requirements: A PhD in Asian Studies, English, Gender Studies or related field, or the foreign equivalent, is required, as well as a record of effective university teaching and demonstrated potential for research. Applicants should possess expertise in the study of Post-colonialism and/or World literature and Asian Studies with an expectation of teaching in both English and Asian Studies.
